In the Ark this January we have been looking at the theme of ‘Hot and Cold’. We have talked about what hot and cold feel like, hot and cold weather and what we can do if we are too hot or too cold.
The weather decided to help us out with our theme by turning cold and snowy. We enjoyed getting out into the soft snow and making the first footprints in the snow. We had snowball fights with our friends in the Ark and in other classes – even Ms Williamson joined in! We watched the snow fall and tried to catch the snowflakes on our tongues.
We also had the chance to make and drink some hot chocolate – complete with cream and marshmallows to heat us up in the cold weather and listened to a streamed concert from the Ark theatre in Dublin called ‘Tracks in the Snow’ where we heard all about Irish animals in winter, and the Northern Lights.
We have had a lot of fun in the snow but we’re looking forward to warmer Spring days ahead.
