Every Tuesday for the past four weeks, we have had Junior Achievement with Sinead Keiley from Abbott Ireland. The theme this year is ‘Our City’.
We have been learning about zones in cities eg business, industrial, multi purpose and residential.
We were restaurant owners for a day, architects and we also made a newspaper where we all wrote our own articles.
We had great fun learning with Sinead.

Last week we were how far a toy car would go when released from the top of a ramp. Mr Maye brought in ramps for us to use and we brought in the dinky cars.
We adjusted the slopes and used different surfaces in our experiment.
We measured the distance from the bottom of the ramp to the car.
This was a cool way of learning about length.
This year 6th were working alongside two artists to produce artwork in conjunction with St Johns in Ballytivnan. This year the theme of birds were chosen and children and the old folks in St. Johns made paper mache birds which were then attached to a wooden tree.
Six children from 6th class visited St Johns to see the work being done by the old folks, to talk to some of the participants and to show off some of their work in the gardens of St. Johns.

On Pancake Tuesday 3rd Class had a great time making pancakes.
First we had to write down the ingredients and the method. Then we had to measure and weigh our ingredients.
We cooked the mixture on the pan. We added our favourite toppings (chocolate spread and banana).
