Easter Greetings

It may not be very like Spring weather but there are some beautiful flowers growing around our school at the moment .

Here are some of them .

Happy Easter from all in St.Edwards N.S.

See you all on the 8th of April .

Art in Room 12

6th class have been busy making Easter chicks during the past few weeks.

We wrapped wool tightly around two circular pieces of cardboard.

We then cut through the wool and used a piece of string to form the wool into a ball shape. We decorated the chicks using felt and google eyes.

Junior Infants make sound shakers!

In Junior Infants last week we made shakers.

Firstly, we explored the sound different containers make including glass jars, plastic bottles, metal tins and wood.

Then, we made shakers using plastic bottles, glass jars, metal tins and of course some rice to help make some noise. We decorated them using wrapping paper.

Rounders Blitz

Well done to our rounders team who participated in a rounders blitz today in Collooney. Everybody really enjoyed themselves, despite the bitterly cold weather.

Spring Nature Walk

As pat of the Greenwave science project , 4th class are looking out for signs of Spring .

We went on a nature walk in the local area .

It was a lovely, clear day and we took lots of nice pictures .here are some of them .

Science Display

St Edwards NS organised a science display yesterday.

This was an opportunity for every class to show some of what they have been learning about in science recently.

Parents were invited to come in and have a look also.

3rd class  made butter and informed classes on how to make a model volcano andhow to make it erupt.

We had great fun.

Two students from first class Lee and Thuilini took part in an Irish drama caled “Rabhlaí Rabhlaí” in the Hawskwell Theatre this month. Congratulations!

First class enjoyed showing their science experiments on seeds and sound to parents and other students this week.

Happy Mothers Day!!!!

6th class would like to wish all their mums a very happy mothers day.

To My Mother
For all the times you gently picked me up,
When I fell down,
For all the times you tied my shoes
And tucked me into bed,
Or needed something
But put me first instead.
For everything we shared,
The dreams, the laughter,
And the tears,
I love you with a “Special Love”
That deepens every year.
