The Suitcase of Human Rights

On Wednesday 23rd March we participated in a human rights workshop. The title of the workshop was ” Suitcase Of Human Rights” and it was presented by Pia.
Here are somethings we learned about human rights:
We all  have a right to vote.
We all have a right to life.
We all have a right to play.
We should not descriminate.
There should be no child labour.
Following our discussion we went out on yard to play ” The Tower Of Power”. The game was based on team work. The aim of the game was to build a tower using 5 blocks.
To end the workshop we each made two badges.

SEASA speech and Drama club dress up !!

Last Thursday the children in the afterschool drama club improvised and created their own characters using whatever they could find in the drama props box .

We had builders , a princess, a pilot and even a bride!

We had some very interesting conversations with our new friends and helped them to sort out some  tricky problems too while staying in role!!!

Great fun was had by all !

Our Spring Walk

Junior Infants went on a Spring Walk around the school to see if they could spot any signs of Spring. They found buds growing on the trees, lots of new flowers growing including daffodils, primroses and one lonely crocus.

Pancake Tuesday

Junior & Senior Infants worked together to make pancakes on Tuesday. We learnt that the ingredients to make pancakes are: milk, eggs and flour.

We also learnt a rhyme to help us to remember how to make them:

Mix a pancake, stir a pancake,

Pop it in the pan.

Fry a pancake, toss a pancake,

Catch it if you can!!

We could choose from chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, jam or golden syrup, to put on our pancakes when they were cooked. Yummy!!
